The Morrocans are fine craftsmen. The richness of their work is undeniable. Like the majority of the Moroccan cities, Essaouira has its specialities.

The work of the thuja (and yes still him) important and is varied. The work of marquetry is exceptional. The delicacy of me aâlem is impressive. It is very interesting to visit the co-operative in order to see all the stage, of the rough tree to the oiled end product.
The souk of the jewellers is rich Berber traditional models (fibules, collars coloured out of amber, silver bracelets and enamels...) town jewels in gold, (for marriage, ceremony...), but also of the original and contemporary jewels. This knowledge to make is the heritage of old me aâlems Jewish.
The shoe-makers work the raffia, to create original and coloured shoes.

One will still find, the lamps in skin decorated with henné, the musical instruments (it is possible to order in the carpenters musicians a guembre), carpet, weavings, leather workings, objects out of wrought iron... and all the Moroccan craft industry.
